Our Welded Pipe Phased Array
Ultrasonic Testing PAUT Machine is a fully automatic CNC-controlled NDT system developed for 100% volumetric inspection of seamless tubes, ERW pipes, oil casings and production tubing.
Equipped with high-performance ultrasonic transducer arrays, it provides high-sensitivity detection of longitudinal cracks, transverse fractures, inclined defects and laminar delaminations. It can realize precise full-length wall thickness measurement synchronously with flaw detection in a single inspection cycle.
All inspection workflows and data logging fully comply with official API 5CT and API 5L standards, well meeting stringent quality control requirements for OCTG manufacturers in the global oil and gas industry.

The machine operates on the ultrasonic pulse-echo technique. High-frequency ultrasonic waves (2–5 MHz) are generated by piezoelectric probes and transmitted into the pipe wall via water-coupling.
- No defect: Ultrasound travels through the wall and reflects from the inner surface, producing a back-wall echo.
- With defect: Waves reflect earlier at discontinuities (cracks, inclusions, laminations), generating a defect echo before the back-wall signal.
- The system calculates defect depth, size, and position based on echo time and amplitude, enabling accurate, repeatable, and high-speed inspection.
