The horizontal spiral strip accumulator is generally installed between the shear & end welding unit and tube forming mill on ERW pipe production lines. Designed as strip buffer storage equipment, they pre-store a long section of steel strip in advance.
When the line performs coil changeover, strip end trimming and butt welding between the running strip and new coil material, the reserved strip inside the accumulator sustains constant, non-stop feeding to the downstream forming mill.
Indispensable auxiliary equipment for ERW tube production, horizontal and spiral strip accumulators prevent full line stops during coil switching and strip butt welding. They stabilize continuous production, elevate overall line efficiency, slash unplanned downtime, increase finished pipe yield and product dimensional consistency, and greatly improve total output and economic profit for the complete ERW welded pipe production system.
