The uncoiler serves as the very first entry-point piece of equipment for the entire ERW welded tube production line, undertaking the critical initial task of storing, supporting, unwinding and feeding steel coil raw materials for subsequent processing. Cooperating seamlessly with the coil loading trolley, it receives heavy steel coils delivered from the material yard, securely holds the coil inner bore via its expandable mandrel structure, and provides stable radial support to prevent coil deformation, loose winding or accidental collapsing during unwinding operation.
Designed with reliable driving and braking assemblies, the uncoiler performs controlled, continuous decoiling work to release flat steel strip steadily at a matched line speed. It consistently sends the unwound steel strip forward to the leveler/flattener unit for preliminary straightening, eliminating internal coil curvature and surface waviness before the strip enters the forming section of the tube mill.
As the starting core equipment governing material supply rhythm, stable running of the uncoiler directly guarantees uniform strip tension, consistent feeding continuity and overall production line stability. Properly configured uncoilers effectively avoid strip jamming, tensile distortion and uneven feeding defects, laying a solid, qualified material foundation for high-precision tube forming, high-frequency welding, sizing and all downstream procedures in OCTG casing, tubing and general structural pipe manufacturing lines.
