Overview

Our Cold Flying Saw for ERW Pipe Production Line is custom-engineered for high-speed continuous cold cutting of small and medium-diameter steel tubes. It features strong versatility to coordinate seamlessly with orbital milling cutoff devices, flying cut-off machines, ERW tube mills, and complete production lines for OCTG casing and tubing.
Adopting a shear-type cold cutting structure paired with an integrated full cooling and lubrication system, this saw exhausts most cutting heat through metal chips. The design keeps pipe workpieces and cutting blades operating at low temperatures across the entire cutting procedure.
Running at high linear speeds, it generates neatly squared pipe ends free of burrs and deformation with exceptional dimensional accuracy. Well-suited for high-volume pipe manufacturers, this equipment greatly raises overall line productivity and sustains consistent premium quality for finished tubes.

Working Principle

Different from traditional abrasive hot cutting discs that generate massive frictional heat and sparks, this single cold saw blade relies on precision-ground hard cutting teeth to shear tube wall mechanically. During high-speed rotation and controlled feeding, cutting coolant continuously washes the cutting zone to dissipate heat instantly. All cutting thermal energy is taken away by swarf, so no heat-affected zone (HAZ), tube oxidation or thermal deformation occurs on pipe ends, realizing true cold cutting forming for tubular workpieces. Optimized tooth gullet design ensures smooth chip evacuation, avoiding tooth clogging during long-time high-speed tube cutting.
