Overview
An uncoiler, also known as a decoiler, functions as the primary feeding unit for a complete ERW tube mill line. It is purpose‑built to hold, support and continuously pay off steel coils for downstream operations such as strip leveling, forming, welding and pipe sizing across the entire ERW pipe‑manufacturing process.
Our Expandable Mandrel Uncoiler for ERW Tube Mill Line processes carbon‑steel, alloy‑steel and galvanized‑steel coils across a wide range of coil weights and widths. Fitted with a hydraulically expandable and retractable mandrel, the machine securely grips steel coils to avoid slippage during unwinding. Its built‑in anti‑torsion structure and tension control deliver stable, uniform strip feeding while minimizing material deformation. This protects the whole ERW tube mill line and supports uninterrupted continuous production.
We supply both single‑head and double‑head uncoiler variants for ERW pipe mills. The double‑head design enables seamless coil changeover, substantially cutting downtime and boosting overall tube‑making productivity. Our uncoilers boast excellent compatibility with ERW pipe mills, steel tube forming machinery and OCTG production lines, and are well‑acknowledged by steel pipe manufacturers worldwide.
Custom‑tailored uncoiler solutions are available based on your actual coil specifications, ERW mill capacity and plant layout. Please contact us for technical datasheets and quotations for your ERW tube mill project.

Our Advantages
- The two drums operate in a continuous cycle: one performs unwinding while the other handles coil loading. This design cuts downtime and boosts productivity. In addition, the drums support forward and reverse rotation to enable both upward and downward unwinding.
- A brake unit mounted at the rear of the main machine keeps the coil firmly positioned during operation.
- The hold-down roll prevents coil bounce and avoids personal injury risks.
