Présentation générale
The double drum un-coiler is the primary inlet equipment of the entire ERW welded tube production line, tasked with the pivotal front-end function of storing, holding, unwinding and feeding steel coil raw materials for downstream processing. Working in tandem with the coil loading trolley, it accepts heavy steel coils transported from the stockyard. Its expandable mandrel engages the coil’s inner bore for firm clamping, delivering steady radial support to avert coil deformation, loose winding and sudden collapse during decoiling.
Equipped with robust drive and brake assemblies, the uncoiler executes regulated, continuous unwinding to payout flat steel strip at a speed synchronized with the production line. It feeds the uncoiled strip onward to the leveler for preliminary straightening, removing inherent coil camber and surface undulation prior to the strip entering the tube mill forming section.
As the core starter unit that dictates material feeding pacing, stable operation of the uncoiler directly ensures uniform strip tension, uninterrupted material conveyance and holistic line stability. A properly specified uncoiler can effectively prevent strip jams, tensile deformation and inconsistent feeding faults. It lays a sound, qualified material base for high-precision tube forming, high-frequency welding, sizing, as well as all subsequent processes in production lines for OCTG casings, tubings and conventional structural steel pipes.
Nos atouts
- The two drums operate in a continuous cycle: one performs unwinding while the other handles coil loading. This design cuts downtime and boosts productivity. In addition, the drums support forward and reverse rotation to enable both upward and downward unwinding.
- A brake unit mounted at the rear of the main machine keeps the coil firmly positioned during operation.
- The hold-down roll prevents coil bounce and avoids personal injury risks.
